ABOUT KOH TAO

When most people think about climbing they automatically think of Tonsai, Railay, or even the currently closed Crazy Horse. Climbing in Koh Tao has been in slow development for nearly 20 years and it started primarily with bouldering. Since then, over 150 routes have been developed with more going in. This new digital guidebook is being updated regularly and a purchase of the guidebook will get you access to all future updates.

Geology:

It's granite. I know, that is strange to hear from a crag in Thailand but it's true. It can be sharp and is known to teach you a thing or two about tough skin. It resembles areas such as Joshua Tree in the United States.

Getting a Guide:

As recently as early 2020 there were multiple shops that guided rock climbing on the island. Goodtime Adventures and Evasion Koh Tao are the two remaining shops that can take you out climbing, although they go to different areas.
